Private Lessons

Are you interested in being able to confidently play lead and rhythm parts in a band? Want to learn to write songs? Want to learn to just strum along to your favorite records by yourself?

I will teach you or your child all of the knowledge and tools needed to do whatever your dream is on your instrument. My aim is to help every student achieve their personal goals on their instrument while also being sure that my students develop holistically into well-rounded musicians.

I offer online lessons through Zoom. This is ideal for students as you will receive a recording of each lesson to review as much as you like, and I will send homework assignments and PDFs to you via email.

Guitar; in-person

I am likely the oldest student Chris is currently teaching, with a brain that doesn't soak up the material like the youngsters. He is a very skilled musician in his own right, but most importantly, he is very patient and presents the material in a way that I can grasp it. The atmosphere is relaxed and I always look forward to me next lesson.

Kate

Mandolin; online

Chris is patient and kind and teaches in a way that is clear and easy for even complete beginners to understand. When I get frustrated or discouraged in my practice, Chris is quick to try and pick me back up - he's a great motivator and he helps you remember to celebrate the small victories.Learning with Chris is fun and engaging - he makes sure to incorporate music theory into the practice so that you are able to understand the why behind the "rules" of music. Chris is great at tailoring a learning plan to your specific goals as well as your baseline skills.

Chris is patient, knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and flexible as an instructor. Even after only three sessions, I feel more confident in my playing and am beginning to understand musical theory that I hadn't understood when I began practicing guitar on my own. Chris has been great at blending theory lessons with technical lessons; he's also balanced well honing previously taught skills and learning new ones. Excited to learn more!

Nate

Guitar, mandolin, bass; in-person

Chris is great. He plays a bunch of instruments, so we'll often switch between mandolin, guitar, and bass in the course of a single lesson. He can be flexible or regimented depending on the needs of the student, and he's able to incorporate theory into the lesson seamlessly. Highly recommend!

My 9 year old daughter is currently taking lessons from Chris. We have been more than pleased with so many things about him. With my daughter, he is patient, approachable and makes her comfortable and eager to learn. She is more and more excited about the things she is accomplishing and I feel that she is getting a firm grasp on the important fundamentals of guitar. Honestly, we feel that we have found a jewel of a teacher and my family highly recommends him!
